An Introduction to Use of Next Generation Sequencing for Microbial Ecology Determinations
Robert Mondavi Institute North Building Computer Lab
October 3, 2013 1-5 pm
The workshop will examine how next generation sequencing (NGS) tools are used to profile fungal and bacterial populations in various environments. Workshop attendees will learn different applications and considerations for microbial ecology analyses. In addition attendees will gain hands on experience with the open source software Quantitative Insights Into Microbial Ecology (QIIME)-the primary software suite for performing ecological analyses. This workshop is aimed at the beginning and interested QIIME user seeking to gain an initial exposure to this very comprehensive software package.
The workshop is geared towards students and post-docs attending the IMGC symposium. The workshop is free to Symposium attendees, but space is limited so register early.
