Monique Rijnkels - Baylor College of Medicine
Monique Rijnkels received her M.S and Ph.D. from Leiden University, the Netherlands, in collaboration with Pharming Group NV one of the first to produce biopharmaceuticals in the milk of transgenic livestock. Her training provided a wide understanding of genomics, mammary gland and cancer biology. Current research interests at the USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition research Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX are: milk protein gene regulation and epigenetics in mammary gland development and disease. She was also part of the bovine genome consortium and leader of the lactation group for the annotation and analysis of the bovine genome.
