IMGC is hiring a part-time Scientific Communications Liaison!

Job Description

Under general supervision of Director of Scientific and Strategic Development, this person will work independently to assist with marketing the science of lactation, milk and dairy science.

Create press releases for research and scientific activities (publications, intellectual property, conferences, webinars, workshops, etc.) on lactation, milk and dairy science.

Create blogs on research and scientific activities (publications, intellectual property, conferences, webinars, workshops, etc.) on lactation, milk and dairy science.

Draft and publish short articles for popular audiences on the science of lactation, milk and dairy sciences on websites, blogs and secondary publications.

Create and manage scientific and non-scientific content on the website to convey the value proposition of the institution to stakeholders that include the public, policy makers, sponsors, and scientific community.

Advertise and manage research activities on lactation, milk and dairy science on social media platforms including Linked-in, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and other outlets.

Manage the ongoing marketing, and scientific communications with stakeholders by creating advertisements on scientific journal websites, conference websites, social media platforms.

Manage interns that assist with content development of the Features program which involves scientific writing for popular audiences.

Create marketing assets (logos, videos, etc.), mass emails and newsletters using Canva, Mailchimp, Photoshop and Constant Contact.

Preferred qualifications

-Experience in networking and strategizing and conducting outreach
-Knowledge with Google Analytics, and Zapier
-Experience with Constant Contact (or similar), Canva or Photoshop
-Experience creating logos and mp4 videos
-Experience building content on websites (Word-press is a preference)
-Experience using social media platforms for outreach and marketing purposes
-Ability to work with multi-disciplinary scientific and lay audiences

Salary information

This position is a contract, part-time position with flexible hours (~10 hours per month). Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.
